Melbourne – The Australia-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ABCCI) organised a vibrant Iftar party on Friday, 21st March 2025, at 7 PM at Madhumoti Restaurant in Footscray, Melbourne. The event brought together business leaders, community members, and esteemed guests to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan.
The event commenced with a warm welcome speech by ABCCI President Mohammed Murad Yousuf, representing MEXIM AUSTRALIA. In his address, Mr. Yousuf highlighted ABCCI’s mission as a business forum dedicated to fostering trade, investment, and development activities between Australia and Bangladesh.
Event Secretary Golam Haque, representing Haque Corporation Pty Ltd, spoke to OTN Bangla, emphasising ABCCI’s collaborative efforts with the Bangladesh High Commission in Canberra. He stated, “ABCCI has been working closely with the Bangladesh High Commission to support and enhance import and export activities between the two nations. Our goal is to promote trade, investment, and mutual development, creating opportunities for businesses in both countries.”
The IFTAR gathering was graced by distinguished guests, including Moira Deeming MP (MLC) and John Fletcher, Liberal candidate for Gorton, who joined Bangladeshi business leaders and community members in a spirit of unity and celebration.
The event underscored ABCCI’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and fostering a thriving business ecosystem between Australia and Bangladesh. Attendees enjoyed a delightful evening of networking, cultural exchange, and traditional IFTAR cuisine, marking another successful initiative by ABCCI.
